We all know that cross platform has been the one solution that will bridge the disconnect of PC and console gamers together. We have had a long siscussion of who are the best gamers between PC, PlayStation and Xbox. I guess we may just find out.
But before we do, let us look at how far we have gone into investing in the cross-platform subject. One game that has been the subject of test is Rocket League.
Psyonix, Rocket League Game Developer, have engineered the game to have cross-platform. They have said countless that it’s done. Its all a matter of politics on PS4, Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch. Already PlayStation 4-to-PC competition, Xbox One to PC, Switch to Xbox One-and-Switch to PC cross-network play is what was the plan. The only standing block is Sony has been approached several times by Psyonix about cross-network play but they always respond with the same negative answer. “It’s not right now”
Our question is, why is PlayStation refusing? Is there something they are afraid of? Could it be something to do with security? We don’t have the answers to these questions. Maybe speculation will tell. What do you think?
